Hello, I’m Jack the lantern man.
That was my job.
I lit torches and lanterns along the streets.
Not like today for sure.
We had to walk lamp to lamp and light each one.
A farmer lighting lanterns at night.
The god of harvest called me Jack the Lantern.
People just called me Jack-o-Lantern.
I was given the eternal job of providing light on every door step.
Door to door every night I went after harvest.
Now only once a year do I smile on the world.
